This talk will provide an overview of some experiments on quantum phase transitions and simulations we have recently performed in circuit QED systems. The talk will start with the introduction of the quantum Rabi model (QRM), synthesized with a superconducting qubit and a microwave resonator. The parameters of this effective Rabi model are controlled by the amplitudes and frequencies of the parametric modulations applied to the qubit. Then I will present the first-order superradiant phase transition realized with this QRM, featuring the emergence of a photonic super-cat state, formed by the vacuum state and two coherent states with opposite phases. Next, I will report a quantum simulation of the Dirac particle with the Rabi model, which will be followed by an introduction of our recent investigations on non-Hermitian Hamiltonian physics in the system composed of a qubit and a decaying bosonic mode, where we predicted an exceptional entanglement transition. Finally, I will present the experimental demonstration of this exceptional entanglement phenomenon, performed in a circuit QED architecture.
个人简介:
1997年12月博士毕业于中国科技大学物理系光学专业,获理学博士学位。毕业后到福州大学物理与信息工程学院工作,2001年破格晋升为教授。主要从事量子光学及量子信息方面的研究,已在国内外重要学术刊物上发表了200多篇论文,其中1篇发表在Nature,12篇发表在PRL。研究成果受到了国内外同行专家的高度评价,其中1篇论文已被他引1000多次(见PRL87, 2392 ),引发了学术界大量的后续研究工作,在该领域具有广泛影响。2012年诺贝尔物理学奖获得者Haroche所领导的小组认为该论文所提出的理论方案为复杂纠缠操纵开辟了很有希望的前景,在量子信息处理方面很有前途,并在实验上加以验证(见PRL87, 037902)。2002年获国家杰出青年科学基金;2007年被教育部聘为“长江学者”特聘教授,并获得第十届中国青年科技奖。
